Neighborhood signs

I have lots to say lately but feel somewhat uncompelled to type it out. But, I have been frustrated with my lack of interest to physically move at all. More accurately, to find an activity that gets my heart pumping and doesn’t bore me to tears.

I have a borrowed bike but it’s a bit rickety and my neighborhood is so hilly that there is no warming up before my ride. It’s just immediately unpleasant. In the Cape, there is a lovely amount of heartbeat-raising hills without it being miserable and also it’s just a nice place to ride. I get to borrow my godmother’s bike too which is much smoother to ride.

Yesterday I decided to go for a walk at least. After breakfast I set out for a fast paced one. Harlow looked hopeful as I grabbed my socks, then a bit deflated when my routine did not include her leash. Alas, if I want to actually get some exercise, I need to leave her behind because of her constant stop and sniff routine.

Towards the end of my walk I came across something really beautiful, I think. As I looked this display over, the owner came out. We introduced ourselves and chatted a bit. He told me “I tried with cardboard but then it rained”. I didn’t think to ask how long it took for all the boards to accumulate, but I wanted to share photos of this whole set-up.

It’s like having art int he neighborhood!

I have a large wall in front of my property and have often wondered if i should do something with it. It is not flat at all, so painting it or even chalking on it would not work at all. In truth, I don’t think I am brave enough to make a statement on my wall, which is at a fairly open and viewable intersection.

So for now I’ll keep signing petitions, reading, talking, watching.
