I met Shannon back when we were classmates at Ohio U, but we because friends when we ended up working at The Palm Beach Post together in the early 2000s.
Here’s Shannon back in 2002. It’s the first photo I have of her and it was taken at the Post!

She is a bright light in a sometimes mirky world. A lover of animals, photography, good writing, Buddism, crystals and “woo woo shit” (her words, not mine), postcards sent through the mail, fabulous jewelry, and laughter, to name a fraction.

After working together in Florida, Shannon and her husband moved around a bit, and I am very excited that they have settled in Massachusetts. Shannon and I have a standing monthly dinner date which is truly a stroke of genius.
For my fiftieth birthday, Shannon brought me a delightful day which was completely analog. No phones allowed! I LOVED this!
We started in her home with a five minute meditation, then we collected some maps and drove to North Hampton where we had a great time doing some shopping, getting lunch, and having our tarot cards read. We marveled that we were able to navigate without our phones, and we talked about how when we worked at the Post we used thick map books to navigate our way all over the county to get to various assignments!
After some spending and future-predictions, we headed to the New England Peace Pagoda and took in the beautiful property.
When Shannon revealed my big outing to me many months ago, she gifted me with a camera which operates like an old, one-time-use film camera, where you couldn’t see what your images looked like until the prints came but, but was actually digital. So we spent the day documenting our outing with no clue about how the photos would come out.
Here they are!
