I don’t remember the last time I was so tired! The students were back on campus at BU and we spent last week documenting their return. I was very happy for the weekend but would have loved to have more energy and more days to pour over the boxes of items that were saved for Mom and Dad from the house by the estate clean out team.
It turns out that the original owners of their house did in fact leave quite a lot behind. I have no idea where they have been all these years, but it’s nice to learn about the people who made my childhood home come into existence. I mean, check this photo out! I’m pretty sure it’s the original owner’s grandchildren Benjamin and Catherine Foster;

Old photos aside, I did get an outing in with Little! In fact, this is the second one in two weeks! Last weekend we ventured out to an Immersive video game, and this weekend we trekked into Boston (and somehow it was a trek!) to visit The Great Elephant Migration.
First we drove tot he BU campus, parked and got a slice of pizza, then we hopped on the T and rode the green line to the Arlington stop which turned out to be overshooting the installation, which was parked on Commonwealth Mall. We had a mini-migration ourselves but finally came upon them and while walking through them all only took about ten minutes, it was worth it.
We investigated how we thought they might be made. Hollow? Yes. With a metal frame covered in strips of wood. A few elephants were darker than the majority, and one was red! For reasons that are unclear to me, they were all Asian elephants except for two or three, which were African (much bigger ears!).
I’m not sure why they put elephants which are from different continents together.
After walking through the elephants we came upon the Boston Women’s Memorial. And then of course found ourselves some ice cream! Even when I’m dragging from low energy, she’s a delight to be around!
